PB’s history of corporate citizenship makes us a valued neighbor in our communities worldwide. We have been committed to social issues and understand the health of the community is intertwined. Our corporate citizenship programs are successful thanks to four key factors which are interconnected and foundational to everything we do.
Our activities focus on literacy and education. As a technology company, we understand that a strong education is foundational for all innovation. We also know that literacy and education strengthen our communities worldwide. We focus on underserved school districts to help ensure that all students have a better opportunity to grow to their full potential. Our grants and volunteer efforts include literacy, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and Entrepreneurship education. And while the programs we support span early childhood to workforce development, our emphasis on early literacy is intentional. These critical years are foundational to future learning, health and life success.
How do we go about achieving our Purpose? By being intentional in our second key factor . . .
We work with non-profit partners with proven track records and whose missions and objectives align with our purpose. Through our global employee involvement partner, the United Way, and Pitney Bowes Foundation grantees such as the MIND Research Institute, Reading Is Fundamental, and Success for All, we are able to make a difference at the local, national and global levels.
With our Partners, we build upon our Purpose through…
We make sure our social investment decisions are sound and providing great value to our communities, employees, and shareholders. We hold ourselves and our grantees accountable by setting up targets and measuring outcomes. And we provide resources to the community through an array of programs. We make strategic investments through our grant-making, empower our employees through matching gifts, and lead in our communities through employee volunteer involvement. These building blocks for our collective impact make a powerful difference in our communities.
And the biggest key factor of all?
Quite simply, our employees are foundational to our work in the community. Collectively, we are a great force for positive change when we all come together and bring our strengths, talents and passions to the table. We make PB’s social responsibility efforts richer and more meaningful.
The passion of our colleagues led us to build our global volunteer program, Dedication to Education. Volunteer service makes a difference to our community and benefits each of us in. myriad ways, including enhancing our well-being, helping us build leadership and technical skills, creating stronger teams, and building strong social networks.
Together, we make a difference in our communities through company-sponsored literacy and education volunteer activities, and through matching gifts and individual volunteer grant programs that support your community passions.
Through our purpose, partners, philanthropy and people, Pitney Bowes supports our communities and helps build brighter futures for so many.
