PB outpaces peers in advancing women–again

According to the new Catalyst report, Progress in Action, Pitney Bowes, and other Catalyst CEO Champions for Change companies, are outpacing global peers in advancing more women into leadership over time.


For the third year in a row, Pitney Bowes and other Catalyst CEO Champions for Change companies collectively have a higher representation of women in leadership positions at every level than their global peers—more women board directors, executives, senior managers, and managers. Of particular note this year, 45% women on Pitney Bowes Board of Directors exceeds the S&P 500 average of 24%, and 29% women at our company’s Executive level exceeds the 20% representation of women executives at other global peer companies.  

Pitney Bowes has a proud history of supporting opportunities for the growth and development of our diverse workforce, including women. Catalyst, a leading global nonprofit helping to build workplaces that work for women, has been one of the company’s long-time partners.

President and CEO Marc Lautenbach currently serves on the Board of Catalyst and was one of the founding CEOs in the Catalyst CEO Champions of Change initiative. There are now over 60 CEOs involved in the initiative, which was designed to provide CEOs a public forum to demonstrate their commitment to the diversity, inclusion and advancement of women at all levels.

External recognition of our work in gender equity includes being named to the global Bloomberg 2019 Gender Equality Index, and for the second consecutive year named to Forbes Magazine’s list of America’s Best Employers for Women.
