As part of the strategic expansion of the Pitney Bowes Commerce Services Network, we are expanding our nodes in the network and an automation strategy is a critical component to drive scalability and profitability within our business. By the end of the Summer of 2019, we expect to have developed an Automation and Systems Innovation roadmap that can deliver these results.
This internship will focus on differentiating automation and systems solutions for parcel sortation, mailing sortation, and fulfillment operations. Starting with a “current-state” platform, we will expand it to incorporate automation & systems solutions to increase efficiency in current operations. The second phase of this internship will focus on R&D on new automation technology & systems that can provide differentiating, flexible, and scalable operations for the future. We will see the process from R&D to design, requirements creation for development, and the ROI process to gain capital approval.
You will be mentored by the Senior Director of Automation & Systems Innovation and will work directly with the companies engineering teams. Together, you will apply advanced engineering and innovation to accomplish the goals of the internship.
As a Automation and Systems Engineering Intern, you have:
- Preferred year in school: Rising Senior or Senior or enrolled in MS/MBA program
- Supply Chain, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Information Engineering/Management/Systems, or related field
- Analytical and conceptual mind

Our Automation & Systems Innovation Group is part of the Commerce Services strategy team that is responsible for engineering and developing the network design and operating technology platform for the business.
